Paperdoggydolls

I've decided to call the paperdoll portraits "paperdoggydolls", which did not bring up a single entry on Google, so it appears to be safe for me to claim the invention of this term. :O)

This, btw, is Kato, my first official paperdoggydoll. He has outfits to go with all the hats, plus a few more without hats, but they have tags which I didn't want to bend. Also I potentially invented a new way of attaching hats with a tag in the back. Necessity is the mother of all inventions, even in the paperdoggydoll world.

Ebba

Quick sketch of Ebba using a large brush and no pre-drawing. Watercolor and gouache on tan paper. I was actually just doing a paper test to see which side was more suited to colored pencils and markers, but it turned into an Ebba sketch when it was time for the watercolor trial.

I decided to practice on a Jack Russell terrier tonight using a split complimentary-esque color scheme. She kind of reminds me of the Girl with a Pearl Earring, so perhaps next time I'll dress her in something from that period.
